The bronze case of the Hamburg Chrono recalls ship propellers and frames a deep-green dial set off by an orange chronograph hand – signal-bright, like a buoy against dark water. The VK64 mecha-quartz caliber by the Japanese manufacturer Seiko drives a smooth sweep at five steps per second, start/stop at 2, reset at 4. Elapsed minutes sit at 9 o’clock, a 24-hour display at 3, and an enlarged date keeps the layout clear. On the back, an engraving of two Alster sailboats tips its hat to Hamburg.
